UICC Registration
Registration for our Underwater Instructor Certification
Course is quite
simple. The process consists of completing the
current year's
UICC Application Packet,
NAUI Waiver,
LA County
Photo Release form and the
NAUI Medical Evaluation and
Physician Approval form.
All of these forms are available on our
UICC Forms Page right here on
our website. The forms are in PDF format so you
will need Adobe Reader in order to view and download
them. If you do not have Adobe Reader on your
computer, please click
here to download the software from their website.
Due to the intense nature of this program, all
participants are required to have signed medical
clearance and approval prior to any open water
instruction.

UICC Prerequisites
In order to gain acceptance into the Underwater
Instructor Certification Course, you must meet these
minimum requirements: |

Divemaster or Instructor you may still apply if you meet

UICC Tuition Fees
The fees charged for UICC covers program tuition for all
classroom, pool and ocean sessions. Boat fare and
transportation to Catalina is also
included in the cost of the course fees.
Prices for this year's UICC are listed in the current
UICC
Application Packet as well as online at our training
section on our
eStore.
The NAUI Instructor Library is not
included as part of the course tuition. The
Instructor Library may
be purchased from any active status NAUI Instructor
Trainer or Course Director,
NAUI facility or online from our books section on our
eStore.
A refundable deposit is required with your application
in order for us to reserve your spot in the program.
The remaining tuition balance is customarily due at the
first session of the program. You can mail in your
deposit or subsequent payments or for your convenience
you can pay online at our training section on our
eStore. |

NAUI PREP Program
This is a
non-certification program, attendance at which is a NAUI
Instructor Training Course (ITC) prerequisite for any
person not certified as a NAUI Assistant Instructor or
Divemaster. The program includes both instruction and
evaluation.
Enrollees receive the information needed to prepare for
NAUI Instructor training. They are given knowledge,
water skill and other performance evaluations, critiques
and counseling to ensure that they are aware of their
state of preparedness for entering NAUI Instructor
training.
Upon completion of the PREP Program, each participant
will receive a written summary of staff recommendations
regarding their readiness for Instructor training. It is
the responsibility of the individual participant to use
this and other knowledge gained in deciding when to
enter an ITC. Any number of PREPs may be attended if
re-evaluation of preparedness is desired.
Provided all other ITC prerequisites are met, PREP
registrants who are not certified as NAUI Leaders may
attend a NAUI ITC at any time within one (1) year of
PREP completion.
If you have not completed a NAUI PREP Program, LA County
Scuba offers this training prior to the start of each
UICC for those potential candidates needing it to gain
acceptance into UICC.
