Every summer Los
Angeles County
offers an
intensive 10
week program for
the development
of divers to a
more competent
status.
Participants are
exposed to many
facets of diving
curriculum
including deep
diving, wreck
diving, night
diving,
commercial
diving,
underwater
photography and
much more.
The course also
includes
lectures in
practical
oceanography,
diving medicine
and physics from
some of the most
respected and
experienced
professionals in
the diving
industry.
Dive excursions
are planned for
every weekend of
the course and
include some
multi-day
commitments.
Graduates of
this program
should be
comfortable in
any diving
situation
normally
experienced on
our Southern
California
coastline.
Novice divers
with some
practical
experience are
invited to
apply, along
with more
experienced
divers wishing
to refine and
expand their
skills.
Certification
cards indicating
the status of
Los Angeles
County Advanced
Diver are
awarded at the
graduation
banquet for
those
successfully
completing the
course.
In addition to
Los Angeles
County
certification,
graduates will
also earn the
NAUI Master
Diver and
Diver
Rescue
certifications
as part of this
program.
NAUI
certifications
are optional and
are subject to
additional fees
for the course
workbooks and
certification
cards.
