History of the Youth Scuba Program
During the summer of 2007, a pilot program was launched
in joint cooperation between the Los Angeles County
Probation Department and the Los Angeles County
Department of Parks and Recreation.
Funding was made possible by grants received for the
Probation Department with the purpose of this program
was designed to develop teamwork skills with the kids
and give them positive alternatives to other pressures
they face inside their local communities. |

The Youth Scuba
program provided the opportunity and experience for the
kids to participate in a SCUBA program that included a
series of pool sessions throughout the summer, along
with two one day trips to Catalina Island for the open
water training sessions. |
